BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department reports cooler weather in the northeastern region as temperatures have dropped by 1-3°C, though rainfall is still expected in other parts of the country, including the north, east, central, and upper southern regions. The department is also closely monitoring the path of Tropical Storm Trami.

A high-pressure system from China has moved over upper northeastern Thailand and is expected to extend to the upper northern and lower northeastern regions. As a result, the northeast is experiencing cooler temperatures with strong winds, while thunderstorms may occur in the northern and eastern regions. Some areas in the central and upper southern regions may experience heavy rainfall. Residents are advised to take care of their health during this period of changing weather.

Meanwhile, moderate sea conditions are expected in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, with waves of 1-2 meters in the Andaman Sea and about 1 meter in the Gulf. In areas with thunderstorms, waves may exceed 2 meters. Mariners are urged to exercise caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.

Tropical Storm Trami is currently located east of the Philippines and is expected to move into the upper South China Sea between October 24 and 25. Travelers heading to the Philippines are advised to check weather conditions before departure.
