BANGKOK, Thailand – Governor Chadchart Sittipunt presided over the press conference for the “Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2024 presented by Toyota,” Oct 24, promoting tourism with the city’s largest marathon event. The 7th annual “Run Through the City” marathon will take place on Sunday, Dec 1, from 2:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., offering a royal trophy and prize pool totaling 2,440,500 baht. This year’s event will feature world-renowned marathoner Eliud Kipchoge as the tourism and sports ambassador, who will also be joining the run.
Governor Chadchart highlighted the event’s significance, emphasizing the marathon’s growth as Thailand’s and Bangkok’s most prestigious race. He shared his excitement for this year’s improvements, especially the change of the marathon and half-marathon starting points to Phaya Thai Road near MBK Center, with the finish line at Sanam Luang, providing more space for the thousands of runners and supporters expected to attend.
To ensure easy access for participants, the BTS Skytrain will extend service from midnight to 2:00 a.m., allowing marathon and half-marathon runners to reach the start conveniently. Additionally, MRT will open early, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m., for 10 km and 4.5 km runners. This transportation coordination represents Bangkok’s united commitment to a smooth event.
