BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand’s Meteorological Department reports that northern Thailand will experience minimal rain and cool mornings, while parts of the south are expected to have heavy rains. Thunderstorms are forecast for 10% of Bangkok and the surrounding areas.

Over the next 24 hours, the weak high-pressure system over northern and northeastern Thailand will lead to cooler mornings in those regions, with reduced rain across the upper part of the country. The department advises residents in northern Thailand to take care of their health due to the changing weather.

In the south, a northwesterly wind sweeping over the Andaman Sea and the western coast will bring heavy rain to some areas. Southern residents are advised to watch out for potential flash floods and runoff, especially in hilly areas, near waterways, and low-lying regions.

Moderate sea conditions are expected in the Andaman Sea, with waves 1-2 meters high, while the Gulf of Thailand will have waves around 1 meter. Areas experiencing thunderstorms may see waves over 2 meters. Mariners are urged to exercise caution and avoid navigating through thunderstorm-prone areas.

Additionally, Tropical Storm “Trami” over the upper South China Sea is expected to approach the southern Hainan Island and central Vietnamese coast between Oct 26-28. Travelers to these areas are advised to check the weather before departure.

In Bangkok and surrounding areas, there is a 10% chance of thunderstorms, with minimum temperatures ranging from 24-26°C and maximum temperatures between 33-35°C.
