BANGKOK, Thailand – Governor Chadchart Sittipunt inaugurated the sixth “Economic Stimulus and Job Creation Event” in the Eastern Bangkok Districts at Number One Market in Prawet, October 26. The event, focused on lowering expenses and increasing income opportunities for citizens, is part of an ongoing initiative by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to address economic challenges in the city.

Governor Chadchart acknowledged the difficult economic conditions and emphasized the importance of reducing costs and generating income for residents. He thanked the Prawet District Office and Number One Land Company, Ltd. for providing the venue and highlighted the need to support existing market vendors by offering a diverse selection of affordable goods. “We might not have funds to give directly, but we are committed to helping citizens in every way we can, within the scope of our responsibilities, to alleviate expenses and increase income,” Chadchart said.

The “Economic Stimulus and Job Creation Event” series follows the Thai government’s economic recovery policies and aims to enhance trade and provide affordable goods. Organized twice a month across various districts from August 20 to October 31, 2024, the event creates more avenues for local producers, small business owners, and community-based enterprises to sell their products.

The Prawet District hosts the market every Monday, and the current event, held from October 25 to 27 at Number One Market, includes a wide range of community goods, OTOP products, and discounted items from the Ministry of Commerce’s Department of Internal Trade. The event also features cultural performances by the Prawet Cultural Council and community welfare activities.
