BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Airways International pcl, the national flag carrier, has launched a new initiative, “Streets to Sky,” aimed at promoting Thai cuisine on a global stage, Oct 28.
The program features a selection of popular Thai street foods served on international flights departing from Bangkok. The program commenced in August 2024.
By introducing authentic Thai flavors to its inflight menu, Thai Airways hopes to elevate the country’s culinary reputation and position Thai food as a significant soft power asset.
The airline has partnered with PintoHub, a platform dedicated to showcasing Thai cuisine, to curate a menu of street food favorites.
“Streets to Sky” is designed to offer passengers a taste of Thailand from the moment they step aboard. The initiative also supports local farmers and producers by sourcing high-quality ingredients for the dishes.
The street food served on board is carefully selected to appeal to both Thai and international palates. Each dish boasts a unique Thai flavor profile, and the menu is refreshed every two months to offer variety.
Four special menu items include rice with stir-fried chicken and basil, rice with chicken Massaman curry from Chef Tukta, Baan Yisarn, stir-fried noodles with chicken gravy from Nam Tien restaurant and northern Thai curry noodle with chicken from Lamduan Fahham restaurant in Chiang Mai. (TNA)
