BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) announced on Oct 29 that Thailand has officially entered the winter season. Over the next few days, from October 29 to 31, the first signs of cooler weather will appear across the country. Northeastern monsoon winds will sweep through upper Thailand, bringing a mild chill, though temperatures are not expected to drop significantly. Humid easterly and southeasterly winds will persist, potentially bringing rain to the northern and central western regions. In the south, westerly winds are likely to maintain rain along the Andaman Coast and Gulf of Thailand.
From November 1 to 7, a stronger cold air mass is expected to extend over northern and northeastern Thailand. Initially, this could bring thunderstorms to the northeast, lower northern areas, central and eastern regions, including Bangkok and its surroundings. Afterward, temperatures are expected to decline noticeably as the winter front establishes itself across the upper regions.
Meanwhile, southern Thailand, particularly along the Gulf coast, is likely to see increased rainfall as cooler winds cover the Gulf. The shift marks a period of fluctuating temperatures and humidity, and the TMD encourages residents to prepare for the changing weather.
The weather bureau advises the public to take health precautions during this transition, as temperatures are expected to dip and seasonal rains continue, marking the arrival of cooler weather in the coming weeks.
