BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand’s Meteorological Department forecasts thunderstorms and gusty winds in northern regions from November 2 to 5. Following this, temperatures are expected to drop by 1-4°C, bringing cooler weather and stronger winds to upper Thailand.
In the next 24 hours, a weak high-pressure system will cover the northern and northeastern regions, keeping mornings cool in those areas. A low-pressure cell off central Vietnam, along with westerly and northeasterly winds affecting central and eastern Thailand, will continue to bring thunderstorms and heavy rain to some parts of eastern Thailand. Westerly and northwesterly winds over the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand will also result in heavy rainfall in certain areas. Residents are advised to monitor their health during this period of changing weather and remain cautious in areas prone to heavy rain.
In the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand, moderate winds will create waves up to 1 meter, increasing to over 2 meters in thunderstorms. Mariners should exercise caution and avoid areas with heavy rain.
From November 2 to 5, a new moderate-to-strong high-pressure system from China is expected to reach upper Thailand, the upper South, and the South China Sea. This will bring cooler weather and lower temperatures, particularly in the North and Northeast, with a 2-4°C decrease, while central and southern Thailand, including Bangkok, can expect a 1-3°C drop. The monsoon trough extending across the central South will bring further heavy rain to some southern areas.
