BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed concern following recent incidents in Israel that led to the deaths of four Thai nationals and injuries to another amid regional conflict.

Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa has extended condolences to the affected families and reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to safeguarding its citizens. He stated that the government continues to monitor the situation closely and has advised Thai nationals to avoid travel to Israel and the broader Middle East due to rising tensions.

Thai officials are in communication with Israeli authorities after learning that Thai workers were taken into a designated military zone for temporary assignments. Given the unpredictable nature of the conflict, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv have requested that Israeli employers refrain from sending Thai workers into high-risk areas. Efforts are underway to support workers currently in the region and maintain their safety during this period of instability.

As a new member of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Thailand is calling for restraint among all parties involved in the conflict, supporting peace talks grounded in international law and the principles of the UN Charter.

The Ministry of Labor, led by Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, also extended his condolences to the families affected by the incident. The Labor Ministry is coordinating with the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv to move Thai workers from northern areas of Israel to safer locations in the south. Ministry representatives are visiting the families of the deceased to offer support and assess additional support needs during this difficult time. (NNT)
