The Rotary Club Eastern Seaboard celebrated the close of another successful year of service to the community with its traditional party at the Swiss Paradise restaurant.

The June 28 soirée featured a large buffet of continental dishes, beer, wine and entertainment from James Osterwald.

The last “meeting” of the club during the 2010-11 administrative term wasn’t all fun and games as outgoing President Jan Abbink requested PDG Peter Malhotra to present Rotary’s foremost recognition, the Paul Harris awards to the club’s most-energetic contributors, Nitaya Rottmann and Joy Sipaphay Keolaphoumy.

Jan Abbink also presented tokens of appreciation to all the club members and thanked them for their continuous support.

Rotarian Marianne Büsch-Biehl and incoming President Carl Dyson returned the honor, thanking Abbink for his most effective and productive year of service to the club and his successes in implementing many humanitarian projects in Thailand.
