Re: Keeping money in Thai banks for as little time as possible (PM Mailbag Friday 22 May 2015) – Dana, never heard of “online banking”? For a sum of $20 you can electronically transfer any amount large or small. Stay away from Western Union or Pay Pal. All it takes is for both parties to register their particulars with each other. True, some transactions must go through a Thai Bank if the payment is to a Thai firm. So, Dana, if you have a Thai account (which I doubt) you need not even go to the bank. All can be done on line.
I’ll clear that up a little. To pay a Thai firm you need their name and account number with a bank anywhere in the world.
