BANGKOK, 12 June 2015 – The Ministry of Education is planning to introduce the distance learning information technology (DLIT) to medium and large schools in an effort to close social gaps and raise the standards of Thai education.
Secretary General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) Kamol Rodklai said the plan follows a success in establishing the DLIT to 15,000 small schools in various parts of the country.
The DLIT system to be installed for larger schools will include remote-sensing classrooms, teaching materials, a digital library and other educational resources for both students and teachers via www.dlit.ac.th
The OBEC Secretary General added that the Education Super board, which is a committee set up to oversee the education reform, is aiming to improve the literacy rate among young children, promote vocational education and English language skills ahead of the AEC.
Mr. Kamol further said that the DLIT would be expanded for accessibility by everyone in the near future in order to achieve fast-track educational transformation of the country.
