The Transport Company Limited has introduced a “Loy Krathong, Journey to the North” promotion, offering a 10% discount on round-trip bus fares booked between November 8th and 18th for routes to Chiang Mai, Tak, and Sukhothai.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The government has launched a new initiative to boost tourism in Thailand’s northern region through the Loy Krathong and “Phao Thiang Len Fai” festivals this month. The campaign aims to support northern provinces recovering from recent floods while stimulating local economies, as part of a broader effort to promote northern tourism.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Karom Polpornklang announced the initiative, which includes special promotions to encourage travel to the region. The Transport Company Limited has introduced a “Loy Krathong, Journey to the North” promotion, offering a 10% discount on round-trip bus fares booked between November 8th and 18th for routes to Chiang Mai, Tak, and Sukhothai. Tickets are available at ticket offices, online, or through the E-ticket application, with terms and conditions applying.



Several notable festivals are planned across northern provinces, including the Yi Peng Festival in Chiang Mai from November 15th to 18th, Krathong Sai Lai Prathip in Tak from November 15th to 18th, Phao Thiang Len Fai at Sukhothai Historical Park from November 8th to 14th, and Long Sapao in Lampang from November 14th to 15th. The government encourages travelers to use public transport for these cultural events.

The campaign promoting Northern tourism offers a 50% discount, up to a whopping 400 baht, for tourists purchasing goods and services in 17 northern provinces.
