SUPHANBURI, 13 June 2015, Suphanburi Province yesterday held a public hearing forum on the national reform during which locals suggested that schools reintroduce caning to discipline students.

The event was attended by more than 80 representatives from local administration offices, community council members, and various organizations.

According to the Election Commission office in the province, a suggestion has been made to leave education institutes free from political influences. In the past, politicians and government units often disturb school activities in order to introduce themselves or some kinds of campaigns. The EC office pointed out that such activities should be eliminated or minimized.

Those taking part in the hearing also suggested that schools reintroduce caning as a way to discipline students. Other interesting points of advice include the measures preventing nepotism by politicians and strengthening of the current election regulation.
