MEXICO CITY – “Opal Suchata”, Miss Universe Thailand 2024, has made the country proud by advancing to the top 5 finalists in the Miss Universe 2024 competition, held at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, November 17. Opal achieved an impressive feat by securing the 3rd runner-up position.

The 73rd Miss Universe competition saw Opal, representing Thailand, compete against stunning contestants from Nigeria, Denmark, Venezuela, and the host nation, Mexico. After a strong performance, Opal made it to the final 12 and then to the top 5, ultimately claiming the 3rd runner-up spot.

This year’s Miss Universe crown went to Victoria Kier Thelwig of Denmark, a 21-year-old beauty queen. Contestants from Nigeria, Mexico, Thailand, and Venezuela secured the 1st to 4th runner-up positions, respectively.

Opal reflects on her Miss Universe journey with pride, thanks Thai supporters


This year’s Miss Universe crown goes to Victoria Kier Thelwig of Denmark, a 21-year-old beauty queen.

Opal Suchata, Miss Universe Thailand 2024, recently took to Instagram to express her pride and gratitude after her remarkable performance at Miss Universe 2024. She shared that she has no regrets and feels immense pride for fulfilling her duties as a representative of Thailand to the best of her ability.

Opal thanked all her Thai supporters for their continuous encouragement and love throughout her journey. She also mentioned that she and the entire Thai team were deeply touched by the strength and support of the Thai people.

“There is nothing to regret or feel sad about,” Opal wrote. “I feel immense pride in having done my best as a representative. Thank you to all the Thai people who have supported me along the way. Opal and the entire Thai team are so grateful for the power of all of us, the Thai people.”

She continued, “We have shown everyone the pride of our homeland. It’s not just me, but the power of all Thais. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was something I shared with all of you, and I’m happy to have been the one to bring joy and excitement to the people of Thailand. We will keep the wonderful memories together, knowing that once we had hope and faith together.”

Opal concluded by expressing confidence in the future, saying, “I believe that many more Thai women will continue to make us proud. Please continue to believe and never lose hope, because I have never lost hope in the word ‘Thailand.'”

Opal is scheduled to return to Thailand on Thursday, November 21, at 07:00 AM at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
