BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra arrived at the Pheu Thai Party’s first extraordinary general meeting of 2024, accompanied by her son, Thasin, and daughter, Thitharn on November 19. The meeting was held at the party’s newly renovated headquarters on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road.

Inspiring Party Members for Provincial Elections

Addressing party members at 2:50 PM, the Prime Minister expressed her joy in attending the meeting as the leader of the country for the first time. She urged members to gear up for upcoming Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) elections, emphasizing the importance of every constituency in the country.

Paetongtarn also shared highlights from her recent eight-day overseas trip, which included meetings with diplomats in Los Angeles and attending the APEC Summit in Peru. Reflecting on her second visit to an APEC Summit—20 years after accompanying her father, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra—she recounted her pride in representing Thailand as a country full of opportunities and stability.

Commitment to National Development

Paetongtarn concluded by urging members to support PAO elections in key provinces, including Udon Thani, emphasizing the importance of working closely with the government to improve living conditions, reduce expenses, and increase incomes for all citizens.

The meeting then proceeded to address its agenda, including approving reports, amending party regulations, and electing a candidate selection committee. No party structural adjustments were discussed. (TNA)
