KRABI, 15 June 2015 – Krabi province is set to implement measures that will improve Batik products in an attempt to increase souvenir products’ values and to support the Krabi Quality Tourism City campaign.
The Governor of Krabi Songpon Sawattham has revealed that all related agencies are now working to improve and add value to the quality of Batik products, as these products have received much attention from tourists.
He affirmed that this project is in line with the Krabi Quality Tourism City campaign that aims to disperse income from tourism to all sectors in the province through an enhancement of the community’s products and souvenirs.
The Batik products improvement plan will include an establishment of a provincial Batik network that will incorporate Batik manufacturers and sellers as members that will determine the development plan to improve the product’s quality, variations and modernization to meet the demand of consumers.
In addition, members will be trained by experts from the Department of Industrial Promotion and the private sector in July.
