Korat to build 30m baht bike lane

NAKHON RATCHASIMA, 16 June 2015- Nakhon Ratchasima Province is planning to construct bicycle lanes to promote eco-tourism, said governor in a conference.

The Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Thongchai Lueadul today presided over the conference detailing the construction project of bicycle lanes unveiling the project’s background and design ideas, allowing related agencies to send in feedback, comments and suggestions on the project.

The 30 million baht 10.1 kilometre bicycle lane project will connect tourism attractions in Nakhon Ratchasima Province such as the Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo and the Korat Fossil Museum, as well as connecting to the tourism attractions in Wang Nam Khiao District.

The bicycle lane project is proposed to be located along the right side of Highway No. 304 Don Khwang – Pho Klang on the section between the 286 833 milestone and the 296 940 milestone. It will promote exercise and tourism on bicycles, provide safety for cyclist and prevent bicycle accidents, reduce pollution, reduce oil consumption, and promote eco-tourism.
