BANGKOK, Thailand – The Meteorological Department forecasts cool weather in the morning for the northern, northeastern, and central regions of Thailand, with isolated light rain in some areas. Meanwhile, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in parts of southern Thailand, prompting warnings of flash floods and forest runoff.

A moderate high-pressure system continues to dominate upper Thailand and the South China Sea, contributing to the cool morning conditions in the North, Northeast, and Central regions. Light rain may occur in the upper North, lower Northeast, and eastern parts of the country. Residents in upper Thailand are advised to take precautions for their health as temperatures fluctuate.

In the South, the northeastern monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand is moderate to strong, bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas. Residents in affected zones should remain alert for accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and forest runoff, particularly in hilly areas, near waterways, and low-lying regions.

The lower Gulf of Thailand will experience waves up to 2 meters high, with higher waves in stormy areas. The upper Gulf of Thailand will have waves of 1–2 meters. Mariners are advised to proceed with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
