Thailand and Russia eye free trade agreement with EAEU

H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra and H.E. Mr. Andrey Rudenko co-chair discussions to deepen cooperation between Thailand and Russia in trade, tourism, culture, and education.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the Bilateral Consultations with H.E. Mr. Andrey Rudenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on 28 November.

Both parties discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various areas, including trade, investment, culture, tourism, and education. They also reaffirmed their commitment to cooperate within multilateral frameworks, such as in the UN, ASEAN and BRICS. The Vice Minister expressed readiness to start negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and requested Russia’s support on this matter. (MFA)
