NARATHIWAT, 18 June 2015, The southern province of Narathiwat yesterday welcomed home the 28th SEA Games Pencak Silat gold medalist, Adilan Chemaeng, with government officials and locals gathering to give a warm homecoming atmosphere.
Narathiwat Governor, Nuttapong Sirichana, said the province’s residents were overjoyed that their favorite son had put the province on the map, a shining example for the younger generation to follow. He said Mr. Adilan’s victory also coincided with the Province’s centennial celebration.
The governor also awarded the gold medalist with a check for 50,000 baht.
According to the gold medalist,Adilan Chemaeng, he considered the gold medal as a present for Thailand and himself, crediting his victory to his vigorous training and determination. He also encouraged youths wishing to follow his path to take sport very seriously, adding that whatever kind of sport they took up would strengthen their body and their mind as well as keeping them away from drugs.
