Despite flooding challenges, the Energy Ministry reaffirms its commitment to ongoing recovery efforts, ensuring the steady delivery of essential oil, gas, and electricity supplies in the South.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Energy, led by Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, is actively addressing the severe flooding in Southern Thailand, prioritizing uninterrupted energy supplies and support for affected communities during the crisis.

PTT Public Company Limited and PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR) have mobilized personnel to deliver fuel to the flood-hit region. However, logistical hurdles persist as routes are redirected through the longer and less efficient Highway 42. Efforts are ongoing, with coordination between local authorities and the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center, aimed at resolving these issues and expediting fuel distribution.

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has been tasked with maintaining stable electricity supplies in affected areas to minimize disruptions and facilitate relief operations. The Ministry also implements new strategies to ensure reliable power generation and distribution within each flood-affected community.

Despite the challenges posed by the flooding, the Energy Ministry affirmed recovery efforts will continue in the South, working to ensure the steady delivery of vital oil, gas, and electricity supplies to sustain impacted communities.
