BANGKOK, Thailand – The government has implemented the royal policies of His Majesty the King, focusing on improving the environment and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens. These efforts involve collaboration across government agencies and public participation to address the degradation of rivers and canals, aiming to restore these vital waterways to a healthy state. The initiative promotes public well-being while building on royal policies dedicated to rejuvenating water sources, ensuring their cleanliness, and contributing to national prosperity.
PTT Public Company Limited has undertaken a project inspired by the King’s royal policies to improve urban environments and enhance living standards. The company has transformed a previously unused 10-rai area along Kampaeng Phet 6 Road near Khlong Prem Prachakorn in Bangkok’s Lak Si district into a public green space. The project, named Prem Pracha Vana Rak Park, represents the King’s commitment to community development and environmental preservation.
The park is built on three principles: preservation, protection, and expansion. It preserves native plant species and historical trees while supporting ecological balance by integrating diverse plant life to enhance urban biodiversity. It also expands green spaces in the city, creating a hub for recreation, education, and sustainable urban living. The park is designed to serve as a transportation hub and a model for integrating community spaces with green development.
Prem Pracha Vana Rak Park offers multiple benefits for Bangkok residents, providing a peaceful space for leisure, an educational site for cultural and environmental learning, and an example of sustainable urban planning. The project aligns with the King’s vision of creating a greener and more harmonious urban environment, contributing to an improved quality of life and long-term environmental conservation for future generations.
