BANGKOK, Thailand – The 41st MOTOR EXPO 2024 concluded successfully, recording over 50,000 vehicle bookings, over 1.4 million attendees, and a financial circulation of 55 billion baht. The event provided a year-end boost to Thailand’s automotive industry and the broader economy, Dec. 11.
According to Kwanchai Paphatphong, the event chairman, the MOTOR EXPO 2024 revitalized the automotive market with 54,513 car bookings and 7,982 motorcycle bookings. Among these, internal combustion, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles accounted for 58.7% of sales, while electric vehicles (EVs) made up 41.3%.
The top three brands for car bookings were HONDA, BYD, and TOYOTA, with HONDA, TOYOTA, and FORD leading in total reservations. For EVs, the highest bookings went to BYD, AION, and GEELY.
The average price of cars sold was 1,259,928 baht, and motorcycles averaged 191,063 baht. Related accessories and the JOIN BOAT PLATFORM generated an additional 30 million baht in revenue. The VIP service package, MOTOR EXPO EXCLUSIVE VISITOR, also saw a surge in popularity compared to last year.
Digital engagement was significant, with 30,808 downloads of the MOTOR EXPO Application and over 2.47 million online views. The event underscored the growing interest in both traditional and electric vehicles, setting a strong tone for the industry’s future. (TNA)
