BANGKOK, Thailand – A miraculous escape unfolded last night when a teenager driving a Benz lost control of the car, launching it into the air and landing on top of a 6-wheeler, Dec 22. Good Samaritans rushed to rescue the occupants, who emerged unharmed.
CCTV footage from a nearby worksite captured the incident at 11:54 PM. The footage shows a black Mercedes-Benz E 200, registered in Bangkok, following a taxi in the rightmost lane before losing control and veering left. The car crashed into a power generator and then onto the roof of a brown Isuzu 6-wheeler, registered in Samut Prakan, which was parked at the site. The accident occurred on Nakhon In Road, near the Tiwanon intersection in Talat Khwan, Mueang Nonthaburi District.
The area is part of an underground electrical wiring project, with warning signs and traffic barriers set up to close the parallel lanes. The Benz was severely damaged, while the worksite equipment and road signs also sustained damage. Witnesses, including workers and locals, helped rescue the two occupants, a teenage boy and girl aged around 16-17. Miraculously, neither suffered any injuries.
A worker on-site explained that he was alone at the back of the project, monitoring the power generator and warning signs. As he prepared to inform his supervisor about refueling the generator, he heard the sound of screeching brakes from afar. Moments later, the Benz spun out of control, crashed into the generator, and landed atop the 6-wheeler.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the dramatic accident, although the worksite and signage incurred property damage. (TNA)
