BANGKOK, Thailand – Pol. Gen. Kitrat Panpetch, the National Police Chief, announced on December 26 that the Metropolitan Police are fully prepared to implement strict traffic and security measures for the New Year festivities, particularly at key countdown locations.
Pol. Gen. Kitrat stated that special attention is being given to major countdown events, such as the celebration at ICONSIAM, where global superstar Lalisa Manoban, also known as Lisa, will perform. The Metropolitan Police have coordinated closely with ICONSIAM’s management to ensure comprehensive security and smooth traffic flow.
For other prominent countdown locations, including CentralWorld in Bangkok and popular tourist destinations such as Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Khon Kaen, and Phuket, Deputy National Police Chiefs and Assistant Police Chiefs have been dispatched to oversee safety in these areas. Meanwhile, the National Police Chief will monitor the situation from the operations center on the 20th floor of police headquarters.
At this stage, there have been no reports of disruptions, and everything remains under control. A significant police presence will be deployed to maintain safety, with coordination from other security agencies to ensure a safe and joyful New Year celebration. (TNA)
