PHUKET, Thailand – Phuket has once again made waves on social media as a video surfaces of two foreign tourists engaging in a dramatic brawl on Bangla Road in Patong Beach, one of the island’s most famous tourist destinations, Dec 26. The video, lasting 38 seconds, shows the two men fighting in a combination of Muay Thai and wrestling style, with a crowd of onlookers cheering them on.
The altercation took place in the middle of the street in Soi Bangla, a popular nightlife area. The fight ended as the two men eventually parted ways without anyone intervening to stop the fight. It is believed that the two individuals had a prior conflict, which led to the impromptu challenge.
The video quickly gained traction on social media, with many people commenting on the incident. Some expressed concern over the lack of intervention, questioning why no one stepped in to break up the fight. Others praised the spontaneous display of Muay Thai, joking about how foreign visitors come to Thailand to learn the traditional martial art.
Such incidents are not uncommon in the Bangla Road area, especially at night when tourists often indulge in heavy drinking, sometimes leading to conflicts and brawls. Local businesses and employees are accustomed to dealing with such situations. However, it is noted that neither of the tourists involved in the fight has pressed charges or sought legal action.
