The staff & management of St Andrews International School in Rayong held a celebratory party at the ‘Workshop’ in the Holiday Inn Pattaya Executive Tower on the evening of Friday the 20th June.
They were joined by parents and students to celebrate an award that has recently been bestowed on St Andrews from the Center of British Teachers (CfBT), an award that clearly recognizes St Andrews as an ‘outstanding’ school.

The independent inspectors of the CfBT evaluated the school over 4 days and awarded them with a ‘Gold’ for their outstanding performances in each and every category.
St Andrews is the first school in the Eastern Seaboard to receive this award and indeed the only school outside Bangkok.
The inspectors looked at the attendance, behavior and attitudes of students, the quality of teaching and learning, the partnership between the school, its parents and the community, and all of these were noted as outstanding.
Krit Jiramongkol attended on behalf of the mayor and city hall.
They found that standards of attainment achieved by students in their GSCE examinations are high and that in 2014, 46% reached the top grades of A* and A.
They also found that quality of leadership and management throughout the school is outstanding and that the school’s provision for students’ welfare, health and safety attained the same merit.
Parents and teachers all joined in the party.
They stated that “the outstanding curriculum is extensively enriched and provides worthwhile learning experiences and that most students make outstanding progress in nearly every key stage and reach levels of attainment in the core subjects that are above those expected for their age”.
Andy Harrison, head of St Andrews, gave a brief overview of the award at the party and was keen to point out that the parents also played a big part in this success. Rayong Governor Wichit Chatpaisit also made a short speech, saying how delighted he was that St Andrews has been recognized for all their hard work. He said he was proud of the students and knew that this was a great thing for Rayong.
