BANGKOK, Thailand – H.E. Mrs. Lalivan Karnchanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, presided over the reception on the occasion of the launch of the logo commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore, held under the theme of “Singapore – Thailand: Realising Opportunities for New Growth – STRONG @60” at Siam Paragon, Bangkok. H.E. Ms. Wong Siow Ping Catherine, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Thailand, also presided over the event.
The Vice Minister commended the long-standing friendship between Thailand and Singapore, which celebrates the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, and also took this opportunity to convey her congratulations on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of founding of the Republic of Singapore. The Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs also underlined the robust cooperation between the two countries in various areas. In 2024, Singapore was Thailand’s largest foreign investor. Going forward, both countries will focus on expanding cooperation to new areas, especially in future-oriented partnership for the benefit of people of both sides.
The logo commemorating the 60th anniversary of Thai – Singapore diplomatic relations was designed by Ms. Atcharaporn Ponsong. The closeness of Thailand and Singapore is reflected through the delicate unity of an elephant, Thailand’s national animal, and a lion, which gives Singapore the nickname of the Lion City, as well as the national flags of both countries. The number 60 symbolises the Diamond Jubilee of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore. (MFA)
