BANGKOK, Thailand, January 27 – A delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM), led by Vice Presidents Ornkanya (Mook) Pibuldham of Bank of America and Peerasak Gamonsugosol of Honeywell, met with Minister of Industry H.E. Akanat Promphan, alongside Permanent Secretary of Industry Nattapol Rangsitpol, Acting Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand Sumet Tangprasert, and senior officials from the Office of Industrial Economics.

The discussions centered around AMCHAM’s “Five to Thrive 2025” initiative, a strategic plan aimed at attracting and expanding foreign investment in Thailand. Key focus areas included incentives for workforce upskilling, technology and knowledge transfers, and sustainable green projects.

Minister Akanat emphasized that the Ministry’s policies are already aligned with AMCHAM’s goals. He highlighted two key legislative efforts: the Solar Installation Bill, designed to accelerate Thailand’s transition to renewable energy, and the Industrial Waste Bill, aimed at transforming the manufacturing sector by promoting circular economy principles.

Another major topic of discussion was Thailand’s plan to develop a recycling-focused industrial estate, which supports the country’s net-zero emissions goals while maintaining economic competitiveness.

Reaffirming its commitment to Thailand’s industrial growth and innovation, AMCHAM expressed its support for the Ministry’s sustainable development agenda. “AMCHAM also assists the Thai Government in enhancing the ease of doing business to attract more foreign direct investment,” stated AMCHAM Vice President Ornkanya Pibuldham.

This collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening public-private partnerships to drive economic sustainability and industrial transformation in Thailand.
