TAK, Thailand – A joint operation by military, police, and local authorities in Mae Ramat District led to the seizure of call center equipment being transported to Cambodia.

The special task force of the 35th Border Patrol Unit, in collaboration with Mae Ramat Police Station, Border Patrol Police Company 345, and local administration, conducted patrols along the border area between Ban Thalo and Ban Nam Dip Bonwan in Mae Ramat.

During the operation, a suspicious white pickup truck was stopped, and upon searching, authorities found 1,251 mobile phones, 274 SIM cards, and 19 sets of computer equipment.

The driver, Arthit, 45, admitted to being contacted to pick up the items from the Mae Moe River area in Ban Nam Dip Bonwan, Mae Ramat, Tak, and transport them via a private courier company. The goods were meant for a person named Mrs. Paowalee in Watthanakorn, Sa Kaeo Province. He was paid 5,000 baht for the delivery.

Authorities believe the equipment is connected to a call center gang operating in Myanmar’s Myawaddy, attempting to relocate its operations to Cambodia. The seized items were confiscated, and the driver was taken into custody for further investigation and legal action. (TNA)
