BANGKOK, 24 June 2015 – The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) will, on Wednesday and Thursday, hear the arguments from the accuser and the accused as it deliberates the impeachment motion on 248 former members of parliament.
NLA President Pornpetch Wichitcholchai has scheduled an extraordinary meeting of the NLA for Wednesday and Thursday (July 15 and 16) for the legislators to deliberate the impeachment motion on 248 former members of parliament for their role in amending parts of the B.E. 2550 charter dealing with Senate recruitment. During the two days, NLA members will be hearing from the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) – the accuser – and the former MPs accused of misconduct.
The NLA president has also ordered members to convene on Friday (July 17) to make deliberation on agendas such as the Cabinet’s work performance on solving the IUU fishing issue, the human trafficking problem and the rubber price issue. NLA members will also make its decision on the amendment of the Civil Procedure Code involving the sale of condominium units and developed estates.
