BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Culture has partnered with King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang to launch the “One Family One Soft Power” (OFOS) program, designed to develop a highly skilled creative workforce. The program seeks to strengthen Thailand’s soft power industries by providing upskilling and reskilling opportunities in tourism, arts, music, and culinary arts. The government plans to train at least one member from each household, ensuring widespread participation in the country’s cultural economy.

Under this program, 2,400 individuals from Bangkok and 20 other provinces will be selected for specialized training. Participants will receive industry-led instruction aimed at improving their expertise and expanding career opportunities in Thailand’s creative economy.

The training is centered on identifying cultural assets with high soft power potential and equipping participants with practical skills. Workshops will be led by professionals and industry experts, providing hands-on experience in key creative fields. The program is expected to create new job opportunities, strengthen cultural tourism, and support small businesses and artisans in local communities.

The Ministry of Culture, led by Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, has set clear performance goals for the program, including increasing monthly incomes for participants to 20,000 baht and expanding employment opportunities in the cultural sector. The long-term objective is to build a workforce that can contribute to domestic and international markets, strengthening Thailand’s position as a leader in creative industries.

Registration for the program is open until February 7, with students, entrepreneurs, and creative professionals encouraged to apply. The Ministry of Culture will provide ongoing support to ensure participants gain the skills needed to succeed in Thailand’s evolving cultural economy. (NNT)
