Thailand Sets Sights on 39 Million Tourists in 2025 – The Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 aims to boost tourism with major events, improved infrastructure, and exclusive travel benefits.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand has launched the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025, a campaign designed to boost tourism and drive economic growth. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra presided over the opening ceremony in Bangkok on February 3, outlining the country’s goal of attracting 39 million international visitors and generating 3 trillion baht in revenue. The strategy focuses on expanding travel experiences, improving infrastructure, and leveraging cultural and sporting events to promote Thailand as a top global destination.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has introduced key measures to enhance the visitor experience, including increasing flight capacity, implementing a digital arrival card system for smoother immigration, and strengthening transportation networks. A packed calendar of international sporting events, including the SEA Games, MotoGP, and the FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship, is expected to draw global audiences. Collaboration with airlines, hotels, and private sector partners will provide tourists with exclusive travel benefits and promotions.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a “5 Grand” strategy to encourage year-round travel. This includes hosting major festivals, creating exclusive travel experiences, offering special privileges, extending a global invitation to explore Thailand, and organizing nationwide celebrations. The campaign also highlights lesser-known destinations, encouraging visitors to explore beyond traditional hotspots while enhancing Thailand’s reputation for hospitality, arts, cuisine, and entertainment.

The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) will promote Thai sports as a key attraction, featuring events such as the Muay Thai World Festival, Jet Ski World Series, and Chiang Mai Trail Run. The FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship will bring top international teams to Thailand, further strengthening the country’s profile in global sports. (NNT)
