PM Paetongtarn sets 2025 as the ‘Year of Economic Opportunity,’ urges ministries to boost growth and counter misinformation.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has convened a meeting with vice ministers from all ministries to set policy priorities and improve government communication. Held at Government House, the session focused on policy implementation, addressing misinformation, and accelerating national development. Senior government officials, including the prime minister’s advisors and secretaries, were also in attendance.

During the meeting, the prime minister urged participants to support key policies, including the Housing for Thai Citizens Program, the One District, One Scholarship scheme, and economic stimulus measures designed to reduce household expenses and increase incomes. She stressed the need for clear coordination across ministries to ensure efficient policy execution and effective public communication.



To address misinformation, Paetongtarn instructed each personnel to actively counter false narratives that distort government policies. She emphasized the importance of consistency in messaging to strengthen public trust and prevent confusion. Monitoring parliamentary inquiries and keeping ministers informed on legislative discussions were also identified as key responsibilities.

The vice-ministerial group was later tasked with gathering field data, identifying challenges, and proposing solutions to improve policy outcomes. The prime minister stressed the importance of collaboration in overcoming obstacles and ensuring that government initiatives translate into real benefits for the public.


Declaring 2025 the “Year of Economic Opportunity and Acceleration,” Paetongtarn called on all ministries to prioritize economic recovery. She underscored the need for close cooperation among government agencies to ensure policies deliver tangible improvements to people’s lives through timely and effective implementation. (NNT)
