BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has launched The Southern MICE District: Phuket Series, a groundbreaking initiative to establish Phuket as a leading MICE Economic District. This project follows the 3S Strategy – Spend More, Stay Longer, See You Again, encouraging MICE travelers to increase spending, extend their stays, and return for future visits.

TCEB has introduced four distinct MICE districts, each showcasing Phuket’s rich culture, nature, and lifestyle:

  1. The Old Town – A historic district full of culture and heritage
  2. The North Wind – A hub for eco-tourism and adventure experiences
  3. The Lagoon – A scenic waterfront area with premium accommodations
  4. The South Shore – A luxurious beachfront destination for high-end MICE events

Looking ahead, TCEB plans to expand this model to Songkhla and Surat Thani, aiming to create economic opportunities and elevate Thailand’s MICE industry to global standards.

In collaboration with Visa, TCEB has also launched the Thailand MICE Visa Prepaid Card, providing exclusive privileges on dining, hotels, shopping, transportation, and airport services. By 2025, TCEB anticipates 30,000 cardholders and a 5% increase in MICE traveler spending per trip.

This initiative is expected to attract 34 million MICE travelers, generating THB 200 billion in revenue, while positioning Phuket as a world-class MICE destination. (NNT)
