In a move to enhance passenger safety, Thai Airways announces that power banks will no longer be allowed for use or charging during flights, effective March 15.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Airways International Public Co., Ltd. has announced that, for passenger safety, the use and charging of power banks (spare batteries) will not be allowed during flights. This regulation will take effect on March 15.

Several international airlines, including Air Busan from South Korea, have already implemented similar measures, prohibiting passengers from storing power banks in luggage compartments and allowing them only to carry them in hand luggage without charging them during the flight. This new rule aims to prevent the risk of power banks catching fire during flights.

Thai Airways thanks passengers for their cooperation.
