BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand has approved the third phase of its digital wallet program, distributing 10,000 baht each to 2.7 million citizens aged 16-20.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Monday chaired the economic stimulus meeting where the 27 billion baht initiative was confirmed.
Deputy PM and Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira explained that the program now allows spending at any participating store without restrictions and permits cash withdrawals.
He assured that citizens aged 20+ or working adults will receive payments in future phases, with 150 billion baht already reserved for economic stimulus.
For those without mobile phones, registration centers at state-owned banks will open soon, with verification systems to prevent duplicate payments. (TNA)
