BANGKOK, Thailand – The government will begin distributing 9,000 baht in flood relief payments to over 400,000 affected households starting March 12. The Cabinet has approved a central budget of 3.65 billion baht for the relief effort, with funds disbursed through the Government Savings Bank (GSB). Payments will be made in three rounds, covering households in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, and 11 other provinces.
The first round on March 12 will assist 141,207 households in Nakhon Si Thammarat, followed by 137,115 households in Songkhla on March 13. The final round on March 14 will provide relief to 124,115 households across multiple provinces, including Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, and Surat Thani.
During the verification process, officials identified 3,532 households with incomplete or unverified records. The Department of Provincial Administration is working to resolve these issues to ensure all eligible recipients receive their payments in a future disbursement round.
The government has directed relevant agencies to oversee the smooth execution of the relief effort. Payments will be processed in accordance with the Cabinet resolution, with additional verification measures in place to minimize delays.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with local agencies to provide ongoing support to affected communities, assisting them in their recovery.
