BANGKOK, 26 July 2015 – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has called for cooperation from the public, private and civil sectors in pushing forward an action plan of the National Committee on Competitive Advantage (NCC), a national body who maps out path of Thai competitiveness in the world’s stage.
The Prime Minister made the call while chairing the NCC’s second meeting of 2015, saying competitiveness building is a task that needs continual integrated efforts. The NCC comprises six sub-committees in charge of economic stability, human resource development, administrative and customs practices. It takes role in drawing up plans that synchronizes with the national strategy on “Stability, Prosperity, Sustainability” and the Twelfth National Economic and Social Development Plan.
The second meeting of the NCC approved the action plan proposed to create a follow-up mechanism to assess and measure achievements of the plan in every three months. It hoped to reach a concrete achievement within two years.
At an early stage of the plan, the NCC would emphasize on the promotion of private sector’s competitiveness and productivity, the value adding process of products and services of potential economic clusters, and the development of human resources and infrastructure.
