NAKHON PHANOM, 27 July 2015 -Members of the National Reform Council (NRC) committee for the reform of economy, finance and treasury met in Nakhon Phanom and Mukdahan over the weekend for an off-site meeting that centered on the special economic zone in Nakhon Phanom.
On Saturday, Nakhon Phanom governor Adisak Thep-at reported on economic, trade and investment-related developments at Nakhon Phanom special economic zone to members of the NRC committee as well as to the governors of Bung Kan and Sakon Nakhon, and representatives from relevant government agencies in Nakhon Phanom, Bung Kan and Sakon Nakhon.
Somchai Ruchupan, chairman of the NRC committee for the reform of economy, finance and treasury, indicated that the weekend meetings were being held to collect input as well as to present existing reform guidelines. According to him, his committee’s study panels have so far presented many guidelines for the reform of the economy, finance and treasury to the NRC. The said guidelines included the reform of the tax structure, management of enterprises, micro-finance and savings cooperatives. The committee also proposed the setting up of Parliament’s own entity for budget analysis.
