The yellow fever mosquito, Aedes Aegypti, can spread dengue fever, chikungunya, and yellow fever viruses, and other diseases. The interdiction came after complaints to local government that a neighborhood child had died due to dengue fever.

Staff from the Baan Nong Pang Kae Tambol Health Promotion Hospital showed residents how to clean to eliminate standing water and breeding grounds for the mosquito as well as where to spread the abate.

Khao Talo is a rich breeding ground for mosquitoes due to its heavy underbrush.
