Nongprue commemorates Thai Women’s Day

Nongprue Sub-district marked Thai Women’s Day with a three-speaker program on protecting women and children.

Nongprue council members, parents, teachers and health workers in the sub-district attended the Aug. 1 seminar.

Supaporn Thrachoo and Srawut Reegpradon, both professional social workers from Rayong Hospital, lectured about violence against women and children.

With Mother’s Day on Aug. 12, all of August sees activities related to the fairer sex. Aug. 1 is considered Thai Women’s Day.

According to UN Women organizations, Thailand ranks 36th out of 75 countries in protecting women and seventh out of 71 in cases of sexual abuse.
