BANGKOK, 19 August 2015 – The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives is inviting the public to visit a livestock fair, which is taking place now until September 16th in Nontaburi to promote the livestock industry in Thailand.
According to Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives Deputy Minister Amnuay Patise, the event organized by the Royal Irrigation Department and the Department of Livestock has also adopted the name ‘Khlong Padung Krung Kasem Market’.
It is aimed at increasing distribution channels for livestock farmers and for consumers to find quality livestock products at affordable prices.
According to Mr. Amnuay, the exports of meat products and live animals last year were worth more than 130 billion and 19.3 billion baht, respectively.
Chicken was the most popular meat export in 2014, accounting for 79 billion baht. Farmers are also able to connect with businessmen at this event.
Consumers have also been assured of the quality and hygiene of meat products available at the market, which opens from 10.00 – 20.00 hrs.
A similar market is expected to be held in Samutprakarn and Pathumthani provinces as well as in Thawiwattana district of Bangkok.
