Sattahip has opened its own “Walking Street” version, this one stocked with shops and cultural attractions.
District Chief Chaichan Iamcharoen clanged the gong to open the Sattahip Cultural Road July 18. It runs along Sattahip Beach Road from Luang Phor Ie Temple to the Old Best Shop at the Sattahip Market. It will run the second Wednesday of each month from 2-10 p.m.

Rear Adm. Supapong Sirisonthi, chief of staff at the Sattahip Naval Base, Capt. Prai Bualiang, deputy chief of staff for the Royal Thai Marine Corps, and Sattahip Mayor Narong Bunbancherdsri were among the first to browse the selection of clothes and locally made products on sale.
Deputy Mayor Chaithep Bunlert said the cultural project was one of two “walking streets” planned to enhance the quality of life in Sattahip. There is also a proposal to renovate Tesaban 11, off Beach Road, with new sidewalks and landscaping to make it a green area.
