BUENG KAN, 1 September 2015 -The local weather agency has predicted more rain in Sakon Nakhon, that’s likely to fill the province’s reservoirs. Meanwhile, schools in Bueng Kan have temporarily shutdown due to floods.

Continuous rain has flooded several areas of Bueng Kan Province especially the vicinity of the provincial high school where the flood water level has exceeded 50 cm. The floods damaged school buildings, the teachers’ lounge, and the library and computer center, leaving the school’s management with no choice but to close the school until further notice.

Meanwhile in Sakon Nakhon, previous rain has filled dams in the province, and raised the water level of the Nong Han Lake. However, officials at the lake say the rising water level is still insufficient to allow for agricultural use and they will save it for community consumption.

Agriculturalists are now concerned about their growing crops, saying their produce may be damaged if the rain ceases in October.
