SONGKHLA, 27 September 2015 – The Na Thawi Provincial Court in Songkhla province has approved arrest warrants for two more suspects with connection to human trafficking.
Deputy Commissioner of the Provincial Police Region 8, Pol Maj Gen Paween Pongsirin disclosed that the suspects were identified as Cholticha Chaimanee, former-territorial defense volunteer and driver of the Sadao District chief and Soniang Anu, a Burmese national.
Police earlier issued arrest warrants to four military officials and a Songkhla-based businessman Supat Santipiyakul, locally known as Ko Tok. Mr. Sapat reportedly fled to Malaysia. Police have requested Malaysian authorities to deport him.
Police have so far issued arrest warrants to 155 people, 90 of whom were captured. The case is expected to be concluded within September and will be submitted the attorney general later on.
