BANGKOK, 29 September 2015  – The Ministry of Transport is pushing ahead with its drive to create linkage between the various public transport systems in Bangkok, with the ‘Ram Nueng’ pier in the Ramkhamhaeng area designated as a trial site.

Minister of Transport Arkhom Termpittayapaisith launched the demonstration site for the connectivity project on Monday. Ram Nueng Pier (รามหนึ่ง) is a private project being constructed on land leased from the State Railway of Thailand. Situated 150 meters from Ramkhamhaeng Airport Link station and 300 meter from the nearest bus stop, the pier is expected to service more than 1,000 people per day once service commences.

Mr. Arkhom disclosed that Sathon Pier will also see a similar development next year. Meanwhile, the transport ministry was expecting a shared ticketing system for all 19 piers managed by the Marine Department to be put to use in August 2016.
