Monday, Sept. 21, Bangpakong – Stableford

A Flight (0-18)

1st Andre Vandyk (13) 36pts

2nd Maurice Roberts (12) 34pts

3rd Walter Baechli (16) 31pts

B Flight (19+)

1st Fred Tam (24) 37pts

2nd Nigel Perry (23) 32pts

3rd Dave Richardson (28) 30pts

Bangpakong Riverside was the game today, up route 7 for 65 minutes, a swift check-in and then off the first tee on time under the hottest conditions in memory, with no wind or cloud cover, 40C temperatures and 90% humidity.  We also had something that resembled the Indonesian smoke haze that burned the players’ eyes for the whole round.

Despite the heat the course was still wet in places, mostly the rough, but the fairways and greens were dry.

With the severe conditions the scores were not high, with Andre Vandyk taking the A Flight with 36 points, Maurice Roberts second on 34 and the ever colorful Walter Baechli third with 31.

Fred Tam led the way in the B Flight with 37 points, five ahead of second placed Nigel Perry while Dave Richardson completed the podium in third with 30.

Thursday, Sept. 24, Plutaluang N & W – Stableford

1st Karl Beter (30) 35points

2nd Tore Eliassen (19) 34pts

3rd Mikito Homma (18) 28pts

We teed off on N1 at Plutaluang some 30 minutes early today under mercifully cloudy conditions.   The course was in good shape and was quite dry, considering that the lake is up about 6 feet in the last 3 weeks.

Karl Beter was the winner on the day with 35 points, one up on Tore Elissen in second while Mikito Homma took a surprising third with just 28 points.
