Pattaya to mark 37th anniversary Nov. 29

Pattaya began planning for the city’s 37th anniversary commemoration, which will include prayers and wreath-laying.

Deputy Mayor Wattana Chantanawaranon chaired the Nov. 3 meeting with city workers.

The Nov. 29 ceremony will begin with prayers and chanting by monks from Jittapawan Temple at 8 a.m. at the entrance of Pattaya City Hall.

Officials will then lay a wreath at the foot of the “city father” King Taksin the Great monument.

Finally, another wreath will be laid for Prinya Chaowaritbamrung, former permanent secretary of the ministries of Industry and Justice who donated 10 rai of land to construct city hall.

“Making merit together on the anniversary of the establishment of Pattaya City will generate good relations between organizations and is for everyone’s luck and prosperity,” Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome said.
