The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, November 29. Everyone is warmly welcome. Local theatrical troupe Pattaya Players will be presenting their Pantomime “Jack and the Bean Stalk.” The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The annual Pattaya International Fireworks Festival will take place on Friday & Saturday, November 27 & 28. The festival is a display competition between multiple countries and includes parades, live music concerts, traditional and contemporary dance shows and numerous food, drink and souvenir stalls. Each country taking part in the competition will give a short preview of their firework shows on the first day followed by a full 45-minute performance by each nation on the second day.

The 9th Bangsaen Thailand Speed Festival will take place from 24-29 November along a 3.7-kilometer long race track in Bangsaen. Competitors come from all around the world to take part in the race that attracts up to 200,000 spectators. For more information, go to : www.bangsaengrandprix.com.

The annual King’s Cup Jet Ski World Cup 2015 will take place at Jomtien Beach from December 3-6. The world’s top jet-ski racers and freestyle performers will once again be in town to compete for the coveted trophies, graciously donated by HM the King of Thailand. The 3rd TFI Jolly Kids Xmas event will be held on Sunday, December 13 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Jameson’s Irish Pub, located on Soi Sukrudee (Soi A.R.) in central Pattaya. The day will feature a kids’ buffet and soft drinks, Xmas games, face painting & bouncy castle, a raffle with some great prizes, and Santa will also be in attendance to give presents to the kids. Cost is 100 baht per child and children must be pre-registered before Monday, Dec. 7 to avoid disappointment. Tickets are available at Jamesons or contact the TFI team on Facebook.

The Thailand Golf Championship 2015 will be held from 10-13 December at the Amata Spring Country Club in Chonburi. Defending champion Lee Westwood will line up alongside some of the sport’s most famous players, including Bubba Watson, Martin Kaymer and Sergio Garcia, and local stars Thongchai Jaidee and Kiradech Aphibarnrat for four days of thrilling action. Daily tickets are priced at 300 / 400 / 500 / 800 baht and a limited number of free 4-day passes are available at the Pattaya Mail office and the Pattaya Sports Club office.

Dusit Thani Pattaya is a great place to watch the International Pattaya Fireworks Festival on 27-28 November. To accompany the firework displays, The Point restaurant offers an international buffet priced at THB 1,790++ and half price for children 5-12 years old. Local amateur dramatics society the Pattaya Players will perform a pantomime version of Jack and the Beanstalk at The Venue in Jomtien Complex on Friday November 27, starting at 7 p.m. No tickets are required but seats are on a first come first serve basis. The Royal British Legion Thailand meets the last Saturday of every month from 2 p.m. at the Tropical Bar on Soi Khao Noi (Watboonsampan near the Temple entrance) in East Pattaya. The Samaritans of Thailand English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
